What to do on a Fun-packed Weekend at Hicksville, NY

Many tourists come to New York to experience the big city vibe, but Hicksville is one of the state’s more mellow locales. While it gets overlooked by many, there’s much to see and do here, making it a great place for a weekend getaway. Below are some ideas for things to do on a weekend in Hicksville, New York.

Cantiague Park

Located in the heart of Hicksville, Cantiague Park is a 127-acre playground for both grown-ups and kids. It was initially built for Hicksville residents, but over the years has become a popular tourist attraction. You’ll never run out of fun things to do in Cantiague Park with its assortment of facilities, including an indoor ice skating rink, six handball and paddleball courts, a swimming pool, mini golf, tennis and basketball courts, and a large playground to keep the little ones on their feet.

Cradle of Aviation Museum

Delve into the realms of air and space travel at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Located just 15 minutes from Hicksville’s center, the museum is an easy walk from many hotels in town. A walk through the museum reveals stories about Long Island’s aerospace industry. More than 60 aircraft from different time periods restored to their former glory are on display here. Some highlights include a Grumman F-14 Tomcat, an Apollo Lunar Module, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

If you’re into cyber adventures, swing by Virtual Realms, a premier virtual reality arcade that offers guests an immersive, computer-generated, multimedia experience with the most advanced gaming equipment and spacious rooms for groups of all sizes. Eisenhower Park

If you’re looking to spend a leisurely afternoon picnicking under the shade of a tree, find your way to Eisenhower Park. The park covers a massive 930-acre area, and every visitor can easily find a cozy spot to relax and soak in the green scenery. For those who want to keep active, the park features an 18-hole golf course; soccer, softball, and baseball fields; several tennis courts; and a 50-meter swimming pool at the aquatic center. Eisenhower Park also hosts social gatherings, concerts, and bazaars.
